The current upsurge of 4K ultra-high-definition TV products is swift and violent. Looking back on previous years, the global 4K LCD TV panel shipments in 2016 exceeded 60 million, with a penetration rate of 24.4%. At the same time, based on the development history of product resolution, 4K ultra-high-definition display technology will be the mainstream display technology in the next 6 to 7 years. It is precisely during the period from 2021 to 2022 that the popularization of 4K has come to the final stage. The price increase of 4K TV products is of course also related to the gradual shift of the production center of panel raw materials to 8K.

The main reason for the increase in TV prices starting from the end of 2020 is that it is closely related to the increase in the price of raw materials for LCD panels. Taking the "polarizer", the core display material of flat-panel TV panels, as an example, the world's largest polarizer manufacturer's sales in the first quarter increased by more than 20% year-on-year, and it is in a state of full production and sales.

Industry insiders predict that from the perspective of panel prices, considering that the shortage of raw materials such as glass substrates is still continuing, the demand for superimposed panels is not weak in the off-season, the price increase of TV panels will continue for a period of time, and the supply and demand of LCD panels may be tight throughout 2021. . Some agencies predict that the tight supply and demand of TV will continue into the third quarter of this year.
